I work with photography and video to examine the ways gender, body, and culture are shaped by social and political forces. My practice often bridges the present and the past, using history and found imagery to deepen the resonance of contemporary issues.
As a woman raised in a traditional society and later an immigrant in the United States, my personal experience is central to my work. It is through this history of migration, adaptation, and cultural negotiation that I interrogate notions of identity and belonging, exploring the often unspoken tension between individual experience and collective memory.
